George Kanchaveli

I am a fourth-year Ph.D. student in Statistics at Bocconi University, advised by Hugo Lavenant and Marta Catalano.

Before starting my Ph.D., I obtained an M.Sc. in Statistics from the University of Turin and the Collegio Carlo Alberto, and a B.Sc. in Economics, Management, and Computer Science from Bocconi University.

My research interests lie in mathematical statistics, particularly in its connections with optimal transport. I am also interested in Markov Chain Monte Carlo methods, Machine Learning, and Bayesian Nonparametrics.

(Ongoing) Two-sample test for laws of random probabilities via exchangeability and optimal transport

Marta Catalano, George Kanchaveli, Hugo Lavenant.

We propose a new two-sample testing procedure for comparing distributions over random probability measures, leveraging optimal transport and empirical process theory to develop a distance-based method with strong theoretical guarantees.
